How to Improve Your Wordle Strategy
If you found today's puzzle challenging, here are some proven strategies to boost your Wordle success rate:
- Consider letter frequency: The most common letters in English are E, A, R, I, O, T, N, and S – prioritize these in your guesses.
- Start with vowel-rich words: Beginning with words like "ROAST," "RAISE," or "CRANE" helps identify vowels quickly and also use the most common letters in English.
- Use your second guess strategically: Based on your first results, choose a word that uses entirely different letters to maximize letter discovery.
- Watch for double letters: Words like "SWEET" or "HELLO" with repeated letters can be tricky to spot. The Wordle editors love using these kinds of words. Some of Wordle's previous answers have included: TALLY, HIPPO, AFFIX, HILLY, and TROOP.
- Watch for two of the same vowels: "JEWEL" or "SEVEN" with the same vowel used twice are another favorite of Wordle editors.
- Use our Wordle Helper tool: If you're truly stuck, our Wordle Solver can help you narrow down possibilities based on the clues you've already discovered.
