What Can You Use the Random Adjective Generator For?

There may be a time when you want to generate a list of adjectives instead of a list of all words. Maybe you’re looking for a adjective that you can use in a game of Pictionary or simply want to generate a list of adjectives. Our tool does just that.

There are nearly 5,000 adjectives in the English language depending on which dictionary you reference. That’s a lot of adjectives!

Types of Adjectives

There are three different types of adjectives and our tool will generate all types.

Quantitative Adjectives

Quantitative adjectives are adjectives that describe the general count of something. Examples include “few”, “many”, and “a lot“.

Example:Β There were only a few people at the game today.

Numerical adjectives are a type of quantitative adjective that describes an exact numerical quantity of a particular noun.

Example: There were three cars that got into an accident.

Descriptive Adjectives

These are the most common type of adjective and are what most people think of when they think of “adjective”. They describe a specific characteristic of a noun or a noun’s attributes such as color, shape, attitude, feeling, mood, and size.

Example: The lazy dog didn’t wake until dinner.

Demonstrative Adjectives

Used to answer the question “which one?”, demonstrative adjectives are generally the words “this” and “that”.

Example: This cat is fluffy, but that one is not.
